On Thursday morning, Seely posted a similar message on Facebook along with another photo of the two of them together.

“I just want to say thank you to everyone for reaching out these past few days. Sorry if I haven’t responded but messages don’t go unnoticed. My heart goes out to everyone who knew him,” she wrote.

According to Outkick, Seeley and Mallett’s marriage ended after she accused the former NFL player of cheating. Seely wrote in 2020 in a Facebook post.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office called the former NFL player’s death a “tragic loss of life” in a video statement Wednesday.

“It’s always difficult to lose a tourist or resident here, but we have no indication there were any serious conditions there,” Sheriff Eric Aden said. “Not the whole county, plus Destin, was under red flags or double red flags despite some misconceptions out there.”

A yellow flag warning was issued at the time of Mallet’s sinking, “which is to swim with caution,” according to the sheriff. “It appears to be just a tragic accident and nothing to do with wave conditions, tides or currents,” Aden continued.
